For those who were not at 'The Bash', as it has come to be called, I have to tell you that though you are tired of hearing versions of 'words can not describe' blah, blah, blah, blah. That is the way it was. I will not try where better have tread. I will set the stage a little.

I've had the good fortune to know Dave Draper long enough to see him struggle, heal, rise and- yes- grow, his inner life. For those of a different faith, no faith, whatever, we all are aware, sometimes, of the numinous, 'the something that is greater than I'. Those knowing Dave and then seeing 'Bomber Bash Weekend' unfold saw God at work, the numinous unfolding, whatever evokes for you the mysterious otherness that is life outside of our egos, courageously at work and with power. It was amazing. I am grateful to everyone who came, participated in whatever way. You, everyone, left your mark on a special few days in my life, and I know, even more, in Dave Draper's life as well. Dave will object to this sentence, but it is true: Dave Draper earned that weekend in ways you can only imagine.

Now the fact that I say 'left your mark on...my life' should strike everyone as odd. I was just there, as a participant and observer. That weekend was not for me, and that is part of why it was so amazing. I felt blessed just to be there. Thank you everyone, and thank you Dave and Laree.

Hey all you brothers of iron and sisters of steel! Doc and Henrik and Og are even better in real life than on IOL. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful- did I mention wonderful- people!
