"Everything is light after moving several tons of iron -- everything is simple. Colors are brighter, sounds more acute and what might otherwise be annoying as almost entertaining. You wallow in patience, lose yourself in concentration and see humor where stress generally abounds."

What about golfers?

I've often wondered about taking up throwing as cross-training for golf. And because it looks fun.

It occurs to me, twenty three years later, I'd have been a better shot putter if I threw with my left arm.

This remind's me of Calvin's arguments in The throwing Madonna (and probably articulated by many others in other places as well), that as much as there is a stong evolutionary story about humans as the running ape, we are also the throwing ape.

Di nada

Getting even more tangential, I did a Gada (mace swinging) workshop recently...

I'm not a thrower or even much of a sportsperson.

I was amazed at how much of my centre I felt the next day - I wasn't overwhelmingly sore, but I had a profound sense of the whole core (front, back, sides, top and bottom) being a little bit worked.

My broscience/ Danxplanation of this is that the Gada mimics the sorts of movements you would make in throwing.
