A while ago I saw a clip of Dans podcast where he brings up Peter Tsheine, a German S&C coach from a few decades ago.

He reads off SOME of a workout and I wrote down the exercises as best I could:

High pulls — 7 sets of 30 (210 reps total) with 75lbs
Throw heavy hammer 10 times, DJ thinks that's "very low"
power cleans — 7 sets of 20, weight not given
"deadlifts, more throw-[unintelligible], squats"

then he goes back to making his point.

Personally I find this workout very interesting but I looked around online and could barely find anything about Tsheine and found nothing from him.

QUESTION —
Does anyone have this workout? Also what would be a substitute for heavy throws?

Dan once said that after the big 21 program (or maybe it was the transformation program) his athletes would go do a workout of 1000 turns with the discus, I think.

I think of this strange high rep workout from Tsheine to be similar to that; a one-off workout done every now and then before heading into some other training.
