My new step was delivered. While waiting I read and watched videos on the correct way to use it.
1. There are many ways of using a step.
2. It is mainly for lower body but can work with upper body by adding db work.
3. I can concentrate on an area desired (say, glutes) by stepping in a very controlled manner or by stepping in a different manner to get a more cardio workout.
4. As a senior (71) I notice it will sharpen my balance.
5. So far I like the step better then an indoor bike, treadmill, or rower because, for me, it is more engaging.

I love all my "toys" which allow for diversity but I now see there is no need to spend and buy much. A person can get good exercise and take care of their body with very little. It is a matter of desire, education, and doing.

It seems we need to think sustainable rather than obtainable.

In all seriousness, Vicki is the real deal. She transformed herself through grit, determination and plain old hard work. As far as I could tell, nothing could hold her back.

One thing I’ve picked up along the way is; from barbells to KB’s to pin loaded equipment to oddities of lifting devices are all miracle tools to improve a body extremely quickly for me I just really enjoy the things I use too.

Thanks Vicki

What does this look like.
How is it different than using any other step?

Warms my heart to see you're still going strong, young lady.

This is very helpful. I have a few ideas popping in my head from this conversation...a good thing.

Make a Difference.
Live. Love. Laugh.
Balance work, rest, play and pray (enjoy beauty and solitude)
Sleep soundly. Drink Water. Eat veggies and protein. Walk.
Wear your seat belt. Don’t smoke. Floss your teeth.
Put weights overhead. Pick weights off the floor. Carry weights.
Reread great books. Say thank you

There is nothing special about the step I bought. You can build one or use something you have if it is stable enough. I bought because I do not build nor do I have anything stable enough. I bought a simple 16"X16" one that has risers for different heights.

Thank you for the kind remarks. IOL taught me. There is a collective wealth of information and knowledge here along with some very generous people. I started, age 50, and thought this (exercise) would get easier with time and experience. It remains a challenge, though many of the challenges changed (lust for strongest to healthier). Some days I’m eager to see what I can do, other days I really don’t want to do anything. Always it takes effort. The one happy change is I feel like I know what I’m doing now

The new step (day 3) is proving much more interesting then I expected Instead of pounding out X# of steps without thinking except to “get-r-done,” I am paying attention to how my body is moving. It makes a HUGE difference. The weather has cleared and so I can walk or use my recumbent trike around the neighborhood for cardio. But the step is intriguing and so I do a few steps several times during the day. There are many ways of stepping and so it will hold my interest for a good long time.

I was to impatient when I started 20 years ago. Now I am enjoying the process.
