Here is a well-researched but speculative book on how our hominid ancestors survived after they came down from the trees: http://www.josephjordania.com/files/35-TIGERS-LIONS -AND-HUMANS_f4i0ukgp.pdf

If Joseph Jordania's thesis is right, ancestral fitness would include dancing every night, throwing small stones with your dominant arm, throwing big stones overhead with both arms, nice walks in the countryside, bodyweight squats, climbing trees and loaded carries. Also, join a choir!

Balance work, rest, play and pray (enjoy beauty and solitude)
Sleep soundly. Drink Water. Eat veggies and protein. Walk.
Wear your seat belt. Don’t smoke. Floss your teeth.
Put weights overhead. Pick weights off the floor. Carry weights.
Reread great books. Say thank you

My pleasure! Ted Gioia recommended it in his subversive history of music - an excellent book, although we are going OT here.

Was there an exercise summary? I am crawling through it (I like it very much) but I could use a "cut to the chase" on the exercise stuff.

Not really. The exercises were my interpretation of the text. Search for "throw" if you are In a rush...

Loren Cordain wrote a summary of "excercises" in one of his published research.

Most of the time low-intensity activites like walking and after hunts lots of rest.

Sprint
Loaded Carries
Digging for roots and tubers
Climbing trees
