This is a reissue of the classic 1984 book, minus a few spelling errors and a couple paragraphs. Priced fairly, especially if you get one of the digital versions, which are quite nicely protected .acsm files.

It's a real treat to be able to read this book without having to break the bank, and there's some interesting points that you can pick up immediately, and some that will only show up later on re-reading.

I say check it out.
You won't be disappointed.

There's a couple pages devoted to 'The Frantz Routine' and man, you can't say these guys didn't work hard back then!

I picked that up a while ago, along with Seno's pushing for power. Found them both very good,

picked up "Powerlifting manual" by Gary Benford, Susie Benford's husband and one of the best meet director PL ever had. I was very surprised. I have only read parts, but it is like reading Bondarchuck on Throws. You read it, put it down and then think hmmmmm. Having digested that you pick it up and go again.

Now when you have finished a section, you then have to go back and start again, as what you learned in part "Z", throws a whole new meaning on part "A". A really excellent PL / strength/power training book.

He gives credit to Louie Simmons long before anyone had heard of Westside (1985) and gives probably the best run down on box squats I have ever read.

Neander have you ever seen Walter Thomas's book ??

And no, I haven't even heard of the Walter Thomas book.
Yet.

Neander is there anything you don't know ...
yep that was it, .. he was talking about Louie's Box squats long before Louie was writing about it

(and he gave Louie the credit for it.)

and I still have not read the Thomas book, will look it over next weekend, a great "natural" not sure what gems may apply to normal people

wish George Crawford had written a book on squatting, and Barnes, Cundy and Cassidy on PLing, lot of knowledge that went missing after those three retired.

Walter's book was written with Dick Burke when Walter and his wife trained with him in the Oklahoma City area. Very straight forward.
Mark it Zero.
