Doesn't it depend on what else is going on? If I do a couple of long martial arts sessions in a week (or more), then twice a week in the gym is fine. If I can only get one MA session in, then three days strength training works just fine. If I can't get to the kwoon at all, short daily strength sessions keep me sane.
