Not sure all those criteria-s were around in VG day either...IMHO
Home chickens would be the best, fertile I don't think that is a real big deal to be honest...
So no need to have the rooster to get 90% of what you want.
I eat good eggs or at least they are reputed to be.
Some times I have a dozen a day.

Yeah I dont know. Maybe they did. I am considering in the future having a chicken coupe and getting my own eggs. I hear its not too hard. Only problem is to be fertile I would need a rooster. Which are hella loud. I would need ample space to drive them away from my house and or neighbors. But we'll see... I think I found 1 company that has them BUT they are in a different state. But they do ship to the Whole Foods near them. Maybe I'll ask W.F. by me if they would order some.
