Vitamin D deficiency is also the leading cause of hip fractures in the elderly.

A low-impact hip fx (one in which you fall from your own standing height and break your hip) is osteoporosis.

Over 95% of hip fx in the elderly have vitamin D deficiency as the underlying cause of their hip fx/osteoporosis.

This is why it is so important to get your 25-OH vitamin D level checked.

Hip fx/osteoporosis is NOT a natural part of aging. This is a misnomer. It is PREVENTABLE, it's just a matter of knowing.

I live and breathe this every day in my line of work. Trust me.
