Movement is life.

Choose that movements that don't harm you and do them. You may wish to consider swimming or some type of low impact cardio (like a Schwinn Air-Dyne.)

Steep incline presses on bench taking the barbell from a rack...maintaining the back firmly on the bench. There are many out there that continue to exercise with a bad back...but it takes creativity and an independent spirit.

Yes, it will be a struggle to reconcile with your condition and how it limits you. However, giving up entirely ensures that you will lose.
