I just saw this unique, fun-looking challenge which really got me thinking:

I suspect managing only 10lb would be a great benchmark!

Holy moly!

The other day I let go to test my one hand grip and it was pretty ugly, and the rotation put too much strain on the joints of the arm really quick. Had to let go.

Just tried to just hang with a 24kg and nothin doin. That one will take some working up to.

Watching that makes me think of the Turkish get-up. Namely how some things make for illuminating tests, but shouldn’t be trained for heavy weights (unless you’re an old-time circus strongman).

Tried it. For me, pressing is not the problem, my grip is.

So this is a nice either-or game, huh? It's either the grip or it's the pressing strength that's the issue. The issue for what, I don't know, but this seems like a really interesting test for _something_.

So: Anybody here up to doing that with a 32? If so, you better start wearing a leopard print singlet and grow a saucy mustache, because that would be awesome.

I’m working up to it. I’ve started with the leopard print leotard and growing a mustache. I’m just not sure that the leopard print matches my pink dumbbells.

These photos were taken in 1907:

And to think, these old time strongmen accomplished this with little other than whole chickens, raw milk and fixed barbells.

220lb military press for 18 reps! Fighting nazis! With a mustache!
