Henrik's Diet Calculator

Fellow Bombers,

I've been working on something that I think you will find interesting. I have enclosed an Excel worksheet that very easily calculates a person's menu plan in terms of total calories, protein, fat and carbs. It's a worksheet I made for myself some years ago, but it was in Danish. I've planned to update it for some time now and when I started a couple of days ago I thought— why not do it in English? It's not completely finished yet, but can be used as it is.

I thought it might be useful for the diet-group on IOL. I think it's easy to use, but of course that's because I know how it works. If you look in the lower left corner of the sheet you see that you can chose between "Meal plan" and "Food list" (and "Instruction to meal plan" — but that's not finished yet). If you chose "Meal plan" you'll see my diet for today. The smart thing is you can easily calculate what happens if you try to increase or decrease some of the foods. You do this by typing in the yellow column named "Gram this meal" — carbs, protein, fats and calories are then calculated.

The goals of the day are written in the green fields at the top and at the bottom (after meal 6), you can see how it actually went for the day. When you write your total calorie goal for the day and the nutrient percentage goal (in the green fields) the grams you have to eat of each nutrient are calculated — pretty good huh!?

Each person can make his/her own food list and quickly calculate their own menu, using copy and paste. The yellow columns are for entering your data; the white columns contain formulas.
