For the most part, the only thing I’ve been reading since August is nursing school textbooks, ob/gyn and pediatrics in particular.

Loaded about 800 lbs. of dumbbells and sandbags into the back of my pickup due to coming ice storm.

Unloaded about 800 lbs. of dumbbells and sandbags from the back of my pickup. Man am I out of loading shape. Need to add this to my workouts.

Hey Lee, it's those unplanned workouts that let you know how fit you really are. And, make up for lost opportunities in the gym. It's looking good budy.

BTW, Garyed mentioned a power lifting competition coming up in May down in Kileen. I told him it would be fun, if we "Texicans" could meet him down there and have a mini Texas bash. I'm going to mention it to sk/ and track down the rest of us. And get a consensus. What do you think?

Thanks, it's feeling good. Now just to add in some conditioning. I finished with school Monday, so other than 3 days a week of work I've got some time until mid-Jan., when school starts back up.

A mini Texas bash sounds good. Count me in.

I'll give this another try. I finished nursing school a couple of weeks ago, now all I have to do is take the NCLEX in a couple of weeks.

Squat: 6, 95x5, 135x5, 175x5,x5
Bench Press: 45x5, 105x5, 135x5, 165x5,x5
Deadlift: 135x5, 170x5, 205x5,x5
Barbell Row: 65x8, 85x8, 105x8, 125x5
Sit-ups: 15

Light day for squats. Bench press was solid. Deadlift was good. Rows were good, last set was tough.

I have been working out, just sporadically due to school, work etc. since Aug/Sept. I had another log for 2006 up to Aug/Sept. when I stopped posting due to school, work, etc.

Good workout. Bench press - good solid, go for 180x5 on Tuesday, Barbell Pullover-good stretch on rt. shoulder, slight pain in rt. shoulder from too mouse on computer being too high this fall, that's fixed so rt. shoulder pain should go away. Barbell row - good, stay with 125x5 on Tuesday. DB Curl & Press - good. No squats or deadlifts because left knee still bugging me from deadlifts on Jan. 8 and from going up and down stairs this week at new job orientation. I'm planning on trying squats the week of the 29th.

Stupid me didn't take off a couple of weeks from leg work, therefore my left knee is still bugging me, so I started TKE for both knees to build up VMO. I found a couple of threads knee pain and inflammed patellar tendon that have some great info. on knee health.

Spent several days last week in Fredericksburg, Tx. for Spring Break with my wife and daughter. Jammed my left (bad) knee coming down Enchanted Rock 1800 ft. granite rock. It was slick because it had been raining. Time will heal.

I took a good 2 1/2 weeks off because my body and mind were beyond ready for a break and my wife had cervical surgery. I've started back doing basically the program from Core Performance by Mark Verstegen. My almost 42 y.o. body needs flexibility and better mobility with less pains. I'm not doing the strength part right now, that I'll add in in a few weeks.

Doing ok. Trying to get this almost 42 yo body more flexible. I ignored flexibility for too many years. I'm getting the urge to lift again, so I may do some light squats, etc. tomorrow (Wednesday). I'm getting used to a new job/profession, RN, and working nights, so things have been a little off lately, but I'm actually feeling good physically. How are things in the Great Northwest?

Ah yes.... Nightshift... I was on nights for about 11 years before seeing dayshift.
Glad you are feeling good Lee. Be consistent and patient. The flexability will come. Let me know if you have any questions about stretching...

Things here are good. I am looking forward to some nice warm / hot summer weather in a couple months so I can get back on the bike...

You going to be able to get to \sk's bash, in Austin this next weekend?
