I am trying some minimalism for 30 days to see what happens. It consists of the following:
Day 1 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5 push ups
Day 2 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5 squats
Day 3 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5 ring rows
Day 4 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings
Day 5 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5 presses
Day 6 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5 deadlifts
Day 7 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings/5-4-3-2-1 Ab wheel
Day 8 - 5 rounds of 20 kettlebell swings
Rinse and repeat.
I'll let ya know what happens.

Kind of a one lift a day approach with swing volume. Honestly, I think it is a great idea.

If it doesn't work, please be candid about why. It seems "right" to me.

One lift a day was what I had in mind. It will be interesting to find out what adding the swings in will do.

What variations of squats, presses, and deadlifts will you be doing?

How heavy are you going on the deadlifts?

I've always found adding daily swings in the 50-100 range is a good thing. Too much more is too much.

I would also be interested to know what kind of weights you have in mind for squat, DL and press. If it's more than the bar, my only other thought is to bump the pushup numbers -- 5 x 5 is a classic rep scheme, but that really isn't doing much of anything in the pushup...

I am doing double Kettlebell presses, the deadlifts are being done from blocks that sets the bar just below my knees and on the squats I have always had trouble with them because I am tall and such so what I am doing is going to a target that I lower down a little each week and going super slow and controlled to help develop my motor control. I started the deadlifts really light at 135 and will increase slowly, the same thing with the presses. Re the starting weights they are all really light because I was out for nearly two years with a variety of breakdowns. I am really bad at this stuff and this is an effort to get better slowly.

Sensible approach. Set reasonable goals, be consistent, and you'll do fine. Have fun!

Im pleased that I saw this as I have been toying with a similar idea. Swings+something although the format is far more casual than MAC 57 which I think is excellent by the way. My choice will be a different workout each time so for example yesterday I chose bench dips and did up to 50 keeping the reps the same so 10 swings 10 dips 8 swings 8 dips etc until 50 was hit ( 40 kg bell).
Next time dips come around it will be same but different. Today was goblet squats and I did 10 mins of 5 swings + 1 goblet squat with 24 kg bell. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Been thinking of something similar with sprints instead of Swings.

Might be a good variation week for to break up a bout of EES also I feel.

Good luck Mac

I have previously done the same with crawling steps....also tried baby get ups and also dead bugs and paddles.

It's a great idea to get some kovwment each day. The overall benefits probably lie in the total 30 days as opposed to any one particular day.
