Since the first shut down my apartment building had the fitness room closed till just the other day. I had some gym visits at the Boy's & Girls Club senior centre but there has been several shutdowns.

The senior centre has a great little gym with old weights that I really like, the dumbbells clang, which is music to my ears.

The senior centre won't be open till Sept coz of the kids programs during summer, but after being in our building f. c. I'm getting really eager to get back to the s. c. gym, only a month to go.

Our building has an indoor pool which only just opened as well and had some swim time. Only drag is nothing can be book before 10am, the s. c. gym was 7:30am, yes I still get up at 5am.

I had a home gym but then we downsize and sold our house, I wanted to bring all my equipment but my wife didn't like the idea since we moved to an apartment building with a fitness room.

I prefer going to a gym as it gets me in the groove. A great gym just down the street but way too much at $120 CAD a month, I did a 3 weeks free trial and got quite hard-core.

The B&GC is very good but no squat rack, just a smith machine which I make do with. $120 for the year except when school is out.

Today I have 10am booked.

I have a home gym but took everything to my mom's house. I have been doing situps at my house and just keep tossing back and forth about going to a gym. A friend of mine, his wife is apparently dying from Covid, and I do not worry about me but others such as my mom. Thus I have not been back to the gym. Instead I do my long walks and bodyweight home workouts.

Not dragging 2K of dumbbells to my house but have been reluctant to sell/give them away. I'm training, staying as fit as possible, enjoying my Exercise. Although, I started to drink Sweet Tea and not the gallon of orange juice I used to drink every day.

Sorry to hear of your friend's wife. My wife is a nurse (pediatrics). She was called off of one of her shifts last week because the floor was empty. This week it is full, it appears the Corona is back. A few are on respirators.

Viruses aside I am back home full time with the gym: Total Gym, dumbbells, ab wheel, heavy bag, and the Soloflex.

Good health to you all.

Paid my membership for the year at the B&GC senior centre gym starts Sept 8th, meanwhile have them horrid rubber coated dumbbells with horrid tapered bar, I suppose someone thought they is ergonomic.

Also in the fitness room here is a Hoist V-1 Select, a pretty good multi machine.

I'm not sure what the issue is whether it's from those who do not get the virus or this variant has less defenses against it. I'm not sure what is worse Covid or The Vaccine (as we may not know it's full affects for decades). Just wish this Virus would go away.

Henry what is your diet like? Given how you are the ThinMan you are doing something right and I'm just flatlined not losing anything. I have an obligation for dinner out tonight (otherwise I would not eat) but will try and keep it light. Since, my pants have reached their ultimate limit and I'm not buying a bigger size.

Not sure if I'm eating too much or not exercising enough. I walk minimum 4 miles per day, 1/2 hour light bodyweight exercises every other day.

Time to turn up the intensity. Tomorrow I'm running 2 miles, and everyday after that. I'm at my skinniest when I'm training all the time. I guess I have to get back to exercising 24/7. Just drink protein powder, egg whites, Tuna & Water, Vegetarian Hamburgers, and Chicken Noodle Soup for a month. No More Juices.

I think the big issue for me is I drink a ton of Orange Juice 1 gallon a day.

Rick, I just eat normal food, now that I'm not working for a builder I've cut back a lot. My breakfast today is cubed pear and peach with Greek yogurt, I know supper is a big salad and boiled eggs.

For me 4 miles is a short walk, think about 10 miles. My friend told me last night he had been walking daily on his treadmill and is the same weight as when he was 15 and lost all the fat around his waist.

Another friend takes his dog for a fast walk 10 miles daily.

You have a obligation for dinner out tonight, how about a 7oz steak and salad ?

Don't forget good fats, like avocados.

Make the 1/2 hour of calisthenics an hour.

Thanks Henry.

Sounds as if I need to increase the distance of my walks. I'm currently jogging 2 miles in the morning. Sometimes I just walk 4 miles, occasionally 7. Regardless, I need to do more miles per week jogging/walking for 6 days per week. Fortunately my Skechers Max Cushion Shoes are up to the upcoming change in my exercise routine.

Regrettably I just do not like foods that are good for the body. I like High Fat foods but I'll limit the amount. I was drinking 1+ gallons of Orange Juice a day (and that's a lot of carbs) and cut back.

I already put in my 4 miles walk today. Tomorrow I do more miles.

I worked with a guy like that then years later bumped into him at a supermarket, he told me he's had 3 bypasses. And what did he have in his cart, frozen pizza's.

I read a fitbit article saying to start with 10,000 step walk plus 30mins of intense exercise everyday and you can lose a lb a week, also you increase the steps regularly, not just staying with 10,000, I think that about a 2 hour walk.

Thus far Henry for the past 2 days each day I have walked 7 miles. I'm getting ready to go out the door for my 3 day of another 7 miles. Whatever it takes.

Keep at it rick, my sister is doing a Camino de Santiago pilgrimage virtual walk with a phone app.

https://www.theconqueror.events/camino/?gclid=CjwK CAjwx8iIBhBwEiwA2quaq2j8L GK3jJ9aN7do6OCyoHjf3L2-c6 ...

My wife did the actual 600 mile walk in 40 days.

I've been using my apartment gym and pool but also always take the stairs back up to the 15th floor after workouts.

Haha! our building has 2 elevators, one is under being repaired and will out of order for 2 weeks.

people have been moving in and many older folks using as well so me and me wife have been using the stairs.

Today stairs down and up after a walk, then again after gym and again after pool. We're on the 15th which is 13 flights as they number the 13th floor as 14.

I like to do two stairs at a time.
