Hello,
I've been incorporating resistance bands with Easy Strength and so far it's been going pretty well. My question is would it be better to stay with the 2x5 scheme or go to 2xAMRAP?

Thanks!

AMRAP, by definition, is the antithesis of easy.
"I think we often spend too much time focusing on max fitness

It seems we need to think sustainable rather than obtainable.
Meaning whatever we do today, we can do it again tomorrow.
Never taking so much from ourselves that we can't."

Are you doing an easy strength program using just resistance bands,or using them for added resistance with other implements? I've been toying with the idea of doing Easy Strength as my annual "bus bench" program, but without a barbell was looking for options for the big posterior chain movement.

I struggled with this all last year. High volume swings in the 10k challenge were difficult but doing an easy 70ish was well easy. But too easy if that makes sense.

I eventually did RDLs B Stance with two KBs in each hand, looping my wrist through the lighter bell.

Yeah, I have the Goldielocks problem too for the big posterior chain part of easy strength. I have adjustable dumbbells that go up to 100lb (50 each) so I thought about doing RDLs with a band looped around the dumbbells for added resistance.

Other option I used were double cleans

I have been doing a regular Easy Strength program with strictly bands for a little while now. Not having sore joints is a big plus. I think I can stick with the standard rep range, but was curious if there were others.

Out of curiosity, what movements are you doing?

I've played around with the bands (I have like maybe five???) and I used them on road trips. I did NOT do ES with them, so my experience is, well, what it is.

The TB12 book, and YES I know that if you read it your eyes will fall out and death stars implode, has some really good variations for an ES idea.

As for reps, I just don't know. The upside of bands and say the press: moving the feet out a tiny bit makes the press much harder. Figuring that from workout to workout is the tough one.

I like bands so I feel like I should just cave and get the TB12 book. As a non-Patriots fan in New England I was always cold on Brady, but now for some reason I like him. Amazing what a change in laundry can do for your opinion of someone.

I have a set of five looped bands in the following weights (so they say):

15-35
25-85
35-85
50-125

I can "stack" them and either do good mornings, or stand on them and mimic a trap-bar style deadlift.

N=1 but if I can lift it I can lock it out generally, weakest point is the bottom of any hinge isn't it? Makes training the wheels with only bands very difficult. I'd probably hang it from a door or a chin bar and do an assisted king deadlift or something.

I got a lot out of deadlifting against light bands on EES. 3x3 was better than 2x5.

Bands are amazing, but as mentioned will not load the weakest section of a lift - the stretch. That can be ok for many.

The easiest part of a lift eg the last third of a pushup is now the hardest....this also means that the sticking points of movements can now be worked on.

So it's a double edged sword.

I have only tried a 5/3/2 range for banded pushup and row (so a prolonged hinge and a row).
