I live on the west coast, now with horrible smokey air. It is so bad the garbage pick up was cancelled for this week. What indoor exercise would you substitute for walking or bike riding? Or is this time off time?

If you are thinking about time off, maybe you need it?

Alternatively....Heavy Hands.

Thanks. Heavy hands walk in house, excellent or step ups/downs. I'm not wanting or feeling like time off, in fact I feel good, was thinking of upping my walking when the smoke hit.

You can also do Heavy Hands with no weights eg
Really pump the arms and legs in normal marching - hands to above shoulder height.

Alternating press overhead

Lateral raise

Punch press.

Back during the Floods of 1983, my workouts were tossing sandbags on levees!

First, be safe...and second, be safe.

It might be worth NOT training until the air clears a bit.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm demanding there's some fun in it for ya
If you're not sweating you need to find another gear.

My kind of thinking.
Just ordered a real step so I don't fall off my make do step.
Balance is good, I'm good.
Looking forward to my new toy.
Lots of "real" winter days here so it will get used for more then this smoke time.

I'd do step-ups.

Praying for the health and safety of you and the others in our IOL family who have to deal with this horrific situation.
Be strong. Be in shape. Be a man among men, regardless of your age or circumstances.
