Thanks Craig, he puts out great stuff. I did Burn Extreme a few years ago. It works, it's miserable but it works.

I looked it over and decided to give this a run starting today. Need to lose the Corona 15 and the diet looked reasonable. Just eat clean and keep track.

Workout 3 x a week. Did the 1st workout today, and I was a puddle when I was done

Using a 70 lb bell,

15 minutes of TGU, got 11 each side
rest 3 minutes

Then for 15 minutes, alternate Goblet Squat x 5, One arm staggered rows x 5, 5
Keep the rest at a minimum. Did 11 sets of each, was a sweat hog at that point

Rest 5 minutes,

15 2 hand swings x the top of the minute for 10 minutes.

Not going to be a lot of fun once the progressions hit, but I'll do yoga and walk on days off for recovery.

It's all about the diet.

Here is the log

https://www.davedraper.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?fid/14/tid/37254/pid/ 898578/post/last/#LAST

Thanks Bill, I've been thinking about blogging. Maybe in a couple of weeks once I'm up and running with this program.

I hate the, "I've done 2 workouts and I feel swole in my shoulders and my pants are falling down."

Doing this will hold me accountable. As always, it's the diet. Need to get locked in. I'm not going to chase reps either. When I chase reps, I get hurt.

1 week in. I like the program so far. The workouts are challenging but only doing them 3x a week, I don't dread doing them, I look forward to it.

Diet is really manageable, going low carb back to back days isn't a picnic, but I am not starving myself.

Down 3.6 lb. and navel measurement down 3/4 of an inch.

Had my 1st workout of the second week and increased all my numbers.

Finished first 4 week cycle. it's good, on my last workout of the session, I dropped down to a 28 kg vs a 32. HUGE difference. That extra 8.8 lb. was wearing on me and I was kind of regressing.

Looking forward to session 2. Again, not chasing reps, but the metabolic pairings are HARD

Done the A and B sessions of Phase 2. I dropped down to a 28kg for the presses and used a 70 for everything else. Bumping the lunges up to 8+ reps was a real lung burner and a leg shaker.

So far so good.

Thank you for sharing it. I was dying to try something new using a single kettlebell.

Just need to lock in the diet. My waist is smaller, but I haven't kept things tight.

9th week update.

I finished the first 2 phases and am now on phase 3. Have done the 2 workouts and am now debating changing it up.

Why? you ask? Two exercises, snatchs and contra one leg deadlifts.
I grabbed a 55 lb snatch bell, ladders, 1,2,3. Did 98, decent. Good form, but even with good form, between. chalk, humidity, I got a pinch just below my middle finger. My form is good, but once in a while you catch it wrong on the drop. My hand was sore for 2 days.

Second workout Contra One Leg Deadlift. I got absolutely NOTHING. out of this exercise.

My diet is still lousy and that's my fault. I am going to finish the last workout of week 9 and then evaluate.

I was never a huge fan of the single leg DL variations as a training tool.

Now, as a teaching tool, it can be illuminating.

My concern is always that one bad rep with single leg DLs...and BOOM: done! Hurt or worse.

I do appreciate reading your feedback here.

Staggered stance the only way to go for unilateral hinge movements for me. The true single leg DL's value is as a corrective.

This!

B-Stance squats and RDLs are awesome. And you can get quite close to a truly single leg exercise.

I stuck with it to finish week 9.
Dropped the snatch weight down to a 45 lb. bell
14 sets in 15 minutes for 168 rep, hands had no pinching.
Dropped getups and swing weights to a 55
Did 12 getups on each side and 200 swings in 10 minutes.

We will see what happens in week 10. But you're right Dan, need to be careful.

Just started week 13 which is the beginning of phase 4.

Workout A is in the top 3 hardest workouts I've done this year.
After 15 minutes of snatching with a 45, lost count but did between 190 and 200, had to do reverse lunges 10-12 each leg superset with One Arm Rows.
After each superset rest no more than 45 seconds. I started with a 55 lb. bell, but just too nasty.
My heart was pumping through my chest and I was soaked with sweat in my basement.
Then 10 minutes of TGU.
I quit at 8 when I slipped on the right side, as I was preparing to sweep the leg and had to reset. Still did 6 on each side.

I think the TGU's are a stupid finisher for this workout. I already worked out with the bell overhead doing snatches, and then did 55 lunges with each leg. Seems like overkill to me.

To your last response - TGU after that workout is it stupid or is it there to "test" something?
I just downloaded this workout and will start soon, love reading your writings about it!

Thank you Alex, in spite of the fact that I haven't followed the diet well, it's a great program.

In regard to the TGU as a finisher, I've already beaten up my shoulders doing 200 snatches and my legs with 55 lunges. I slipped because I was soaked with sweat.

I never lost control of the bell. I just lowered it to the rack got back down and reset.

It's probably to test your conditioning, but it's a little overkill.

Session B was:

One Leg Contra Deadlift at 3,3 then
Clean x 4-5, Squat x 4-5, Press x 4-5, L, R. Rest as needed
No finisher

The press was brutal after holding the bell in the rack during the squat, especially on the second side. Started out 3 x 5, then dropped to 3 x 4 and the last presses on the left side were to failure.

I finished. An excellent program that does wonders for conditioning. Especially the Metabolic Pairings. Lunges and rows x 10-12 are great test for your lungs.

Weight stayed the same as I didn't watch my diet through the summer.

Liked: Phase 4's Clean, Squat, Press combo. Lunges and Rows parings, TGU's x 3,3

For snatching I just did 200 as quickly as I could, went lighter.
For 1st phase I was using a 32 kg but had to drop down.

Didn't like, One legged deadlifts. See the value, but it was just, "get through the 15 minutes." Not a game changer.
Getups as a finisher. Getups are great, getups after snatches, lunges and rows is a recipe for injury.
The fact that I didn't eat correctly. That's on me.

All in all a GREAT single kettlebell program. I highly recommend it.

What's next? Week off, then Kettlebell Muscle with 45's. The book is out of print, this will be my second go around based on the program that is in Reddit. Type "KB Muscle" in the search.

I'm on another cycle of easy strength but after I finished I was initially going to do ROP from ETK.

Use a 16kg & run through it as a 13 week cycle (based on the heavy day).
Then the same with the 20kg then the 24kg.
I was going to do the pull-ups to using resistance bands to change how easy they were.

I always find I tend to drop weight with the ROP so was essentially going to use it as a fat loss programme.

But then I remembered I had the burn 2.0 PDF so am now wondering if I should do this instead of ROP.

Anyone tried both & how do you feel they compare?

I know ROP isn't meant as a fat loss programme but it is alot of volume.

Yes, do Burn.

It is a great program. Total body, squats, lunges, rows getups, 1/2 getups, clean and press snatch swings, one leg deadlifts. Plus follow the diet.

Then do ETK

I think I am going to try kick stand/ b stance dead instead of single leg dead for this
.

I enjoy single leg & arm moves but the single leg dead never gelled with me.
I would feel more comfortable with pistols or airborne lunges.

Just going to eat normally but try to not pig out as I tend to do way too often

I wasn't a fan of the one loggers either. I battled through them. For the snatch, I just took a 45 and banged out 200 snatches as fast as I could, instead of setting the timer for 15 minutes.

I'm tempted to run it again, but going to run the Total Tension Complex first.
