Figured I'd show this. Fabricated by local metal sculptor. Grip cross bar is ¾ inch pipe which has 1" o.d. so very close to barbell diameter.
That looks cool. I'm waiting for the Walmart's around here to carry the Gold's Gym weights like yours, they've been sold out for a while. I need to pick up a few 25lbs plates and I'll be set for a while.
I made my HCB today. It's really simple, like here, but I made it with handles 5 in.
