Hello group

My wife and I wrote a book as a fundraiser for the LEAN 4 VETS organization (promotes healthy lifestyles for veterans). The book contains 100 unique workouts using only 3 tools (kettlebell, pullup bar, figure 8 resistance tubing). The workouts are done 2-3 days per week for about 30 minutes each. You can download the book at no cost here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S4B2Au33xLut8 Tzq5EdUForHu63yfIlV/view? usp=sharing

I think you'll enjoy it. For sure you will find some interesting workouts to try. The download is free but if you find it to be useful, please consider making a donation to LEAN 4 Vets at:

https://greatnonprofits.org/org/lean-4-vets

Thanks guys. If you find it to be useful, please spread the word.

Great stuff Mike.

There are some handy routines in the book as well.

All the best,

Do they take PayPal? I'm not being difficult, but I don't like putting my card(s) online as much as I used to...

Hi Dan

Not sure, but they are currently setting up their own donation portal. Hopefully up real soon. I'll ask about paypal.

Hah - One Kettlebell Hell truly lives up to its name, especially when you start to go over 20kg bells

This pdf is great

I've only had time to look at the first three workouts. This might be the solution I've been looking for.

Thanks!

Yes, this one is my favorite. I really enjoyed it with a backpack on for the split squats. You can just turn your brain off and suffer.

Mike, which workouts would you recommend for full distance triathletes? Just pick two random ones each week, or do you have something more specific in mind? My friend recently started a triathlon club, and he's looking for a low volume strength training routine for his athletes.

I would steer away from the workouts with running in his case. I would focus on the more strength oriented workouts like The Foundation but most would be fine. For triathletes, 2 X week would be plenty. More than that would probably be counterproductive.

Many thanks. Yeah, as well as being counterproductive, they simply don't have enough time to fit in much strength work, the training volume required to complete an Ironman, let alone be competitive in one, is nuts.

For sure. I did the Ironman in 2003.

Amazing book thank you!

Not that there’s anything wrong with what you’ve done but I’d like to offer you my graphic design time and skills if you want to put anything like this together in future - would be happy to help out.

Today I tried the One kettlebell hell workout

Did the whole round from left to right in one set, then rested a couple of minutes between rounds. Started with a 20kg which is the heaviest bell in the office gym, but the handle is terribly rough but also horribly slippery at the same time - even with chalk those snatches were tough! Ended up doing the five rounds 20kg, 20kg, 16kg, 20kg, 16kg.

Killer workout and just what I needed at the end of a stressful Friday at the office before heading home! Have never done reverse kettlebell lunges before. In fact I have always hated lunges, but these were great! Will be doing this again soon. Maybe at home with a heavier bell but rests between each lift.

Thanks again!

Looks like fun. Was the R&D for this done via #vanlife?

I share your concern about sharing credit card info in the wild.

I am signing up with this group: https://privacy.com/virtual-card

You'll know if your card has been compromised before the bank does.

Yes, quite a bit of it for sure. Many of these workouts are what we used when camping.

Great book! Thanks Mike & Suzanne. I did the Road Warrior workout in the hotel the past weekend. The Victorian Hold is TOUGH. Great bodyweight exercise for the posterior chain with no equipment needed. I definitely will be trying others, especially as weather gets nicer.

Between this and the work you have shared on rucking, plenty of material to keep you functionally fit. Thank you for all of it.

For those with concerns over using a card, I bought a Visa gift card and used that for the donation. That seems like a good (and safe) approach.
