Just finished up 8 weeks of an Edt/bootcamp program and took a week off last week. I've bought a copy of Ross Enamit's infinite intensity and I have also ordered tactical barbell following a recommendation from a friend. Has anyone any experience with either program?
Thanks

kind of at opposite ends of the spectrum. I'd suggest that if you're a fan of the Easy Strength type thinking then TB will fit you well.

I used the 50 day routine from Infinite Intensity multiple times at the end of high school to prepare for karate competitions and the military. It worked great but it focuses on a ton of conditioning. Not surprising if you consider Ross Enamait's line of work.

You do multiple short and intense workouts throughout the week (I think 8-9) and a basic cycle consists of strength, interval, finisher, challenge, GPP and core workouts. The 50 day routine looked like this:

1: Challenge + Finisher
2: Interval + Core
3: Strength + Finisher
4: GPP + Core
5: Rest
Repeat

I finished the first workout of the day in the morning and the second part after karate practice in the dojo. The workouts are hard, but short and because you do so many different things it never gets boring.

Althoug I managed to build some decent strength (400 lbs deadlift @ 200lbs) this routine does not focus on strength and hypertrophy.

And a pretty nice guy. I remember that I had problems with customs and a few questions about his programs (I bought both his books) that he answered in detail. A couple of weeks later he actually sent me a mail and asked how my training was going and if I liked the 50 day routine. No idea if this was an automated mail or not but I was super motivated after that and dived right into another training cycle.

Could you write a short summery/review of tactical barbell? Content, workout structure, opinion, that kind of stuff. Pretty please :D

I have bought both TB and TB conditioning. TB deals with strength in a way that's not dissimilar to 5 3 1. There are lots of templates to choose from and I have used a two day template with 3 big compounds movements. You can then plug in the conditioning protocols around this. There is an emphasis on incorporating LSS at the start to build up a base of aerobic fitness which I actually enjoy and I feel better for it. This lasts 8 weeks. After that you can tailor to your own specific needs. As a school teacher I've no need for military training but unlike other books which have tactical in the title it doesn't claim to turn you into an SAS elite soldier. Great books both of them. You can pick them up on the kindle for very little and there are hard copies out now as well.

Thread resurrection:

Conor, did you ever end up running the base building protocol from TB2? How did you find it?

Not Conor, but I did it once in my late 40s. I found my joints got very achy from so much running, but my fitness did improve.

great, thanks! did you do it as written? meaning for five weeks no heavy lifting? did you find your strength levels suffered? I would assume they would at least a little, but was it easy to recover it back quickly?

Yeah. I played around with kettlebells a bit instead of lifting heavy weights. My strength came back soon enough with a month of proper lifting afterwards.
