Like that Tuesday session above. One-KB workouts really are "enough" for most things most people would need most of the time. Rings and barbells and such of course are nice to have to, if not really "needed" (he says this week).

Yeah of all the different training I’ve done over the years - all the stupid things, boring things, heavy(ish) things and machine things, I don’t think any of it has been as simple and effective as the period when all I owned was this single 24kg bell and literally nothing else. I’d train with it indoors or in the garden or take it to a park and just do stuff.

I think I've said before but that is the greatest thing about a KB -- goes anywhere, does (almost) anything. Boredom is your worst enemy but otherwise a KB and some walking is about all one would need...

Hearing it from you helps. I am trying in "my own little way" to put just that into practice right now. This provided a frame. Thanks.

Good luck with life in 2021 to both of you.

Cheers mate. they never seem to get any easier though with the 32. Obviously I'm always thinking of how I can change up my current training before it starts working, and with limited free time at the moment am sort of thinking of just focusing on the clean and press / c&j and maybe a few snatches

Yeah, my 32s just gather dust. I'm trying to do most everything with a 28 or 28s now that I am home -- I find those are good bells for me. The 32s . . . maybe one day when I can get a year or so of super-consistent, stress-free training. So, ya know, any day now! :-D

In a different way from what I’d imagined, training will take a different turn again since today I picked up a VERY cheap couple of decent powder coated kettlebells - a 20 and a second 24kg

Will try to continue the easy strength approach but likely with double clean and press and dkbfs. 20 should be ideal for higher rep presses and snatches - but also the German javelin complex

Spent all weekend doing jobs in the house and garden. Lots of digging etc. spent half of Sunday jammed under the bathroom sink fixing a burst pipe and tap - twice - after the first one I fitted turned out to be garbage.

So sore and tired today and hands and fingers are killing me lol I feel so old.

Wow what a week. Sunday afternoon our state (Western Australia) got put into almost immediate lockdown due to a COVID case in the community. Literally all plans changed. Kids were due to start the school year on Monday. Instead I’ve been working from home. Plus the weather is very hot and there are large bushfires not very far away destroying peoples homes and lives!

So everything has been a bit of a mess and we’re just getting used to things.

The rules got updated today to allow families to exercise together, so we masked up and took the kids for a walk this afternoon.

It’s weird because we know the rest of the world has been dealing with this for a year while we’ve had essentially life as normal. And we’re very lucky that all being well this will only last for a week.

Later tonight as it had cooled a little and the smoke was mostly gone (but sadly the fires aren’t)...

Thanks mate. In the scheme of things, a one week lockdown is nothing, and the risk of getting sick here is still extremely low, it’s just been a big shock to everyone as it was so sudden. No one was prepared for it. ...which is all our fault as we should have been really.

Hopefully people do what they are supposed to do and it ends up only a week.

My daughter just had her first in-person day of school since last March yesterday. I remember very vividly when the school shut at the end of March, everyone was picking up their kids on the last day, saying "see you in April". It's instead been almost a year!

We all thought the same thing at the time. We were very lucky ours were only closed about 4 weeks at the time.

They announced tonight the lockdown will end tomorrow night, assuming there will be no new cases between now and then. Thankfully there have been no extra cases since Sunday even though the positive person had been to a LOT of places over a few days. We’re grateful our tracing system is so good here, since we haven’t really had any restrictions in place, all the locations he’d been too were full of people. It could have been the start of a huge outbreak.

Well it’s been quite the couple of weeks. We had a sudden lockdown, my wife had a sudden very painful backache. For a week. Then after the lockdown we got her to the docs who sent her for a scan which found it was actually gallstones! We went to emergency and they admitted her for surgery the following day. That was a very long day and thankfully it all went well. She was sent home the next day (Thursday) and is now very sore but recovering. Surgeon was amazed she had put up with the pain for so long. Normally three days is about as long as you can go before things go very bad, apparently. We genuinely thought it was a back muscle problem and her ribs hurt on the right side.

An incredibly stressful time for all of us and I ended up making myself a little sick with stress. Fighting off a cold and earache now.

Needless to say, there has been no training. Hopefully back to normal-ish soon.

Aw shucks. I hope the worst is over now and you both recover soon.
Do they just remove the stones or do they take the whole gallbladder out?

It can be so dramatic. My mother had a Gb episode when I was a kid and I thought she was dying. She saw me and had enough presence to tell me that she'll be fine before the ambulance arrived. I did my best to believe her but I was not so sure.

No wonder you were stressed.

G’day!

Finally back to relatively normal. My wife is recovering well and back on her feet and behind the wheel and able to lift our littlest one again.

Things have been hectic, work busy and the weather extremely humid - all of which made returning to training easy to put off for just one more day, again...

Started easy with a lighter kb than previously
