Can't believe my little son is a week old already today!

Managed to get a couple of workouts in so far. Sleep has been minimal but food is improving. Just doing what I can once all the important things are taken care of.

Thursday: 24kg clean and press 2-3-5-2-3-5-2-3

Friday: 32kg swings 10x10, 10x5

Congratulations! As you know, it will get a bit less hectic but you'll have a little mental child monitor going all the time in your head from now on. At least I have, a couple of them.
Great training and best wishes. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations.

I really like the idea of the program minimum or something pared down when it comes to new "fatherdom." I think you are on the right track with the way you are going.

Enjoy the time.

Thanks all!

Sunday

32kg kb presses, about 10 singles left and right, spread over about two hours while I did other stuff.

Also put my door chin up bar up by the laundry as I seem to be going in there a lot lately!

Did pull ups 2 x 2 and chins 3, 5 at about midnight!

Cheers. Its easier than I first thought it would be ...though will be a lot harder when I go back back to work next week.

Monday

32kg swings x 10 on the minute for 20 minutes.

Finished with 2 laps of suitcase walks per arm. Need to get that baby capsule carrying strength up! Amazing how a 32kg kettlebell feels easier than a 4kg baby and a plastic capsule.

32kg kb presses,

Nice pressing. These days I look at my 32kg 'bell and think "gee that looks awfully heavy."

Weigh in yesterday 82.8kg.

Was 81.2 a week ago.

Been training less and eating worse, including lots of hot cross buns.

But I have been doing gtg pullups/chinups throughout the week with probably 20-30 reps per day. Plus my press and swing workouts.

I did think my shoulders and arms looked a little thicker yesterday - maybe some of it is muscle!

Ha! Re checked weight tonight and 80.5kg so have actually lost more. Think the scales were on uneven tiles which messed them up somehow.

Bad news is obviously not muscle gain!

Ha. It's definitely my favorite lift.

That 24kg felt very heavy this morning though, on no breakfast and only five hours sleep. Just had to get outside while I had the the chance and train in the sunshine.

I like that little delorme style workout but it just wasn't going to happen today.

Been back since before Easter - had two weeks arranged but got called in for two days before the break!

Very tired at the moment. Baby is doing really well and sleeping up to five hours in one go at night, but usually means we're up at 4/5am and not really getting back to sleep, so still knackered.

Managed a workout on the weekend but haven't since. Maybe tonight but just don't know if I'll have the energy!

Might even switch to just GTG type stuff while things are this hard ...maybe bring my 32kg indoors and practice pressing it every now and again and do some chins.

You?

Cheers

They were very hard. The sets of three are a real grind, almost a side press!

Would love to get that little bit better and be able to work ROP ladders. (Time permitting!)

Seems like a mix of heavy pressing and 2-3-5 ladders with the 24kg are slowly working.

Yeah most likely. Not a push press and not a thruster.

Front squat all the way down slowly, up faster and press at the top with a bit of momentum, then controlled negative to rack and repeat.

Saturday

Had coffee with cream then a second cup with coconut oil, then "fasted" until 2pm while doing gardening and stuff round the house.

Hadn't planned to train but was visiting mum and dad and my old pull up bar was still there in the garden. Fancied testing my chinup numbers.

Got 10 nice strict, slow reps!

Followed with 5, 3, 2 then ate dinner.

Not much of a workout but not too bad.

Just had zero time to train lately.

Chucked my 32kg in the car this morning and went up to the park in my lunchbreak!

32kg press 3 x 1,2,3

...this was done 'fasted' since dinner yesterday, with a bulletproof-ish coffee this morning. Been doing this a week or so now, no breakfast just coffee with cream, coconut oil or butter.

Still eating crap for lunch and dinner sometimes though. Can't do it all at the moment.

Well the no breakfast thing is a bit hard but it also takes one decision out of the day and frees up more time in the morning. Thought I'd give it a go as even when I have breakfast I'm starving by about 10am ...whether I have bacon and eggs or just cereal etc.

Just eating what I can for lunch and trying to have good dinners. Though we had pizza and a movie last night as we managed to get baby to sleep early!!

Still seem to be losing a little weight each week though.
