Yes, one can't save the vaccine very long after the vial is punctured and it has to be discarded. The reason is as follows (as I understood that): The protein from the spike of the virus (with which the virus normally attaches to the human cell and infects the body) is isolated and it then needs a carrier(in the vaccine) that transports it into the cell the induce the immunization (production of certain proteins, usually in the liver).

In the mRNA type vaccines they use a part of the 'RNA chain' as the carrier. It is very sensitive and doesn't survive long. Hence the very low temperature and limited time during the transport and distribution.
(Other vaccines (generally speaking) are constructed in different ways, some use adenovirus as a carrier or they use a weakened virus).

My father told me I should have become a scientist, hehe. I didn't understand why!? My mother told me I drove her crazy when I was a kid with all my question of why something was the way it was...( and they both were MDs, haha).

I just like to understand the' why' of things, then I am at peace.

The day I went was also very pretty, especially for February, so that helped with spending the afternoon sitting outside. :-)

I think a lot of people have been doing so much medical research the past year that they wish they would have become scientists or MDs...

Based on Andrew's FB Live commentary this week, I think I'm going to drop swings for now on the days I do other KB hinge ballistics. His comment that your body only has so many hinge movements in it seemed to meet me where I am at the moment. With DL and snatch and long cycle (and situps, the motivation for his original comment), everything I do is a hinge, so maybe cutting back on swings is a good idea. I'm not in a ton of pain or anything, just a bit of a low-grade ache in the lower back from time to time. Plus swings are prolly duplicative of the snatches anyway. Since I'm training five days a week, and only four have other KB ballistics, I'll keep swings on the fifth day, which is an easier/recharge day anyway.

Gonna be switching gears for a bit to single-KB work to further test out one of my theories: that a good way to lose a few pounds is to avoid doing exercises that are known to put weight on (back squats, two-kb long cycle, snatch-grip DL, heavy farmer walks, etc).

This is another one of those experiments that will apparently only last a week or so. Three days of snatches is too many for my elbows, so back we go to what I know I can make work -- two days snatch, two days long cycle.

True enough, PP. The longer I'm at this, the more I think it is all mostly just a series of experiments of one, as no two bodies and sets of circumstances are identical.

In my younger days, I used to start a new topic, and say something like hey, what does everyone think of this? and hope for 20 replies.

Now I just try whatever the thing is, and if it doesn't work for me, for any reason, I just move on without another thought.

Clean-grip DL -- 225 x 3 x 3

2-h swing -- 5 x 15 (28k, OTM)

Trained fasted, did the walk after.

Boredom for sure will be an issue here, but let's see how many of the planned 40 workouts I can get through.

As I progress and get more used to doing presses and pullups (which I really haven't done in years), I'll use fewer sets, so the workout won't take as long.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should get one...

But I feel for you. I can't find my second pair of car keys (since autumn) but they have to be somewhere at home because I drove home. And the spare pair is just manual

On my post-workout walk, I stopped at my hill and ran a few sprints, which I haven't had the opportunity to do in about a year and a half. Glacially slow, but felt good to do.
