Haha, right PP. Quite a few days. Four days without power, then Halloween, then my son's 7th birthday -- it's been quite a few days!

Needless to say, not much training got done, although I did do one-hand swings, plus bodyweight stuff, every day.

Did 10 minutes of strength aerobics with the 24 on Saturday just to do some movement. Not much else.

U know, if you are a pro who's training and eating and avoiding germs all day long then priorities are given but to get one's life working with all the diversities it brings and yet sneak in regularly some physical action is actually very well done.

The best reduction diet is not to get fat ever The best training is the one that gets done if it keeps you from getting de-conditioned.
OK, I get down from my soap box.

PS
Yesterday I happened to read your first post ever on this log...well life changed significantly since then in many aspects but hey, it always does.

Yep, the training of the elite has little to do with my life, to say the least. :-)

Just trying to do what I can, when I can, where I am, with what I have.

And yes, a lot has changed since that first post, but a lot of other things, not so much. Thankfully the biggest thing that hasn't changed is that I still enjoy this little hobby we have, and look forward to doing the physical culture thing for as long as I can get out of bed.

I did some get-ups today! LOL.

Just going to mess around for the rest of the time we are visiting my parents (till next Wednesday). Maybe get back to real training when I get home in a couple of weeks. Or maybe just mess about with one-KB stuff for awhile. Who knows...

November 3, 2020

Did some snatches today cuz why not? Maybe I will try (again) to get halfway decent at snatches in 2021. It has always been a lift in the conversation for me when those hypotheticals come up about doing one lift forever, but I've never devoted a lot of time to it.

1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 each arm (50 total)

Did this once at lunch and once in the evening with the 24k. Not rushing.

Am actually at home for a couple of days before heading out of town again, so let's see how many workouts I can cram in that time!

So not a great end of 2020 (or any other part of this year, really). My mom has been moved to hospice care at home, so I am back at my parents' house, but this time without my own family. Have never spent more than one night away from my kids, until this week.

Have been doing stuff, but not much obviously, just using the few minutes of physical activity to maintain my sanity.

Did 10 minutes of strength aerobics with 24k on Friday, December 11; 10 minutes of snatches (5 at the top of each minute, LOL) with the 24k on Saturday, December 12; also did 100 one-hand swings with the 24 on 12/12.

Otherwise just trying to walk and get in a few sets of pushups, situps and pistols here and there. Again, mostly just for sanity, not for training.

Thanks for checking in, Luke. Have a merry Christmas and enjoy the time with family.

Crazy end to a crazy year.

All I've got here (parents' house) is a 24k, so making the most of some short, simple workouts when I can grab the time.

December 31, 2020 -- decided to take the last day of the worst year ever off. (Note, not the worst year of training, just the worst year.)

Here's to a better 2021, and hoping it can't possibly be worse than 2020!

January 1, 2021

Lunchtime snatches -- 8 OTM for 10 minutes (24k)

Evening 2-h swings -- 15 OTM for 5 minutes (24k)

January 2, 2021

Lunchtime strength aerobics -- 10 minutes EMOM (24k)

Evening 2-h swings -- 15 OTM for 5 minutes (24k)

January 3, 2021

Lunchtime snatches -- 9 OTM for 10 minutes (24k)

Evening 2-h swings -- 15 OTM for 5 minutes (24k)

Snatch is a priority lift this year, so wanted to start the year off with it...

Lunchtime strength aerobics -- 10 minutes OTM (24k)

I've got a drive ahead of me today so that is probably it; just trying to make sure I get my 15,000 steps in.

Unclear if the KB is coming with us...

Nice work mate.

I'm missing my snatches. Think I'm going to try incorporating some similar to how you are in place of swings.

If you're traveling a lot is a sandbag an option? You could carry it empty and load it when you arrive. I reckon they'd work well for the strength aerobics type workout. Just a thought...

Cheers, Luke -- I'm trying to make snatches a priority this year. I was actually still at my parents' house till yesterday (my mom passed Christmas night), and just drove over to the beach to keep my dad company for a few more days before I have to go home. Plenty of sand here for sure, but I brought the KB anyway. :-)

I didn't know how to ask so I kept silent and waited. I am so sorry for your loss, Brian. I really am. There's no way around some facts of life.

Peculiar, I was listening to this interview (link below) prior to logging in into IOL today and I thought of you and whether some thoughts from it could be of use to you. Essentially it is a promo for a book but when I listened between lines to the extreme story I found some thoughts from it 'workable' for myself so I go on a limb and post it.

At best, generally speaking, when timing is right we may use anything difficult as a springboard to owning ourselves fully and thus become more resilient, turning things around into opportunities. Such an ability is a strength in life.

I am sending a lot of light. Take care and keep training.
