I blogged about Tim a week or so ago. His new ebook is very good: I really like his approach to using the tools from various parts of fitness and combining them into some simple concepts. Good stuff. The "recharge" alone is worth the seven dollars.

I'm sitting at the hospital waiting for a friend to return from surgery, and this is a nice time filler. For $7.00, it just seems silly not to buy this.

There are 20 workouts "from Mike" in the Go Outside and Play section that look fun, and range from nice to fairly intense. For those that like Dan's CPKB pdf and training ideas, I imagine you will like these, as well.

Personally, I find myself more and more attracted to training that, as DJ said in his Transformation Program, adds life to your life. This would be in line with that philosophy.

And a few hours later, I can sadly report that while on my back, using only my arms, I'm helpless rolling over my right shoulder on to my stomach. Which is interesting, because the book notes this might happen. I've not felt so unathletic in a while.

Funny, huh? That's one of the rolling patterns Gray teaches. It's interesting that we forgot a core motor control pattern that was so easy when we were infants. When you figure it out, it'll be easy again. Just relax, close your eyes and picture it before you try it -- that'll help.

Just picked this up. It's a great read, and for $7 you really can't go wrong.

Thanks for the tip. Needed something to read on the train tonight and this fits the bill nicely.

Good read.

I tried rolling, crawling and a few others. I found out some interesting things. :)

Some of his drills I will add to my warm up, others I think I will do in the mornings before work.

Just wanted to mention something. I tried "crocodile breathing" both last night, this morning and immediately before my sled pushing session today.

During breaks from sled sprints I rested my hand on my belly and concentrated on pushing my hand to get the same felling as pushing the floor during the croc breathing drill.

It cut my recovery time from each set of sprints down to about 3/4 of what it used to take.

I found the cross body movement and crawling info very interesting.
