That's based on CDC studies, and the sample sizes were in the thousands.

Anecdotally and observationally, I can actually see something like this in real life. If I go to Manhattan, I am very likely to be one of the largest people I pass on the street at six feet and 230 pounds or so. If I go to any store here in rural Pa, I've got a good chance of seeing bunches of people heavier than me. It's striking.
