The weight I started with was right around the 65% of the training max I was using for both bench and squat, and then increased the weight weekly from there. I felt stronger than that, but that was the training max I was using on my previous program and I hadn’t tested a heavy double or anything.

I used the 5-3-2s only early on in the program. I pushed the deadlift to a comfortable 315 early on for a double, but otherwise I just kept at the 2 x 5s the whole time.
