Sandbags

Or just follow Wicked Willie's frugal tips:

Secure a number of heavy duty plastic lawn bags. Using a double or triple bag, fill it with sand till it weighs 50 lbs. Make of several of these bags, closing them with the Universal Tool - duct tape. Then enclose them in a surplus duffle bag. Shoulder and carry for distance. Bearhug and carry for distance. You'll be huffing and puffing in no time. (50 lbs. is just a suggestion, I recommend that you make a variety of sizes - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 lbs. This allows for easier "progressive resistance.")

If you're feeling flush, IronMind has a sandbag kit or you can buy an Everlast heavy bag, and the bodybags over at k2fitness are choice.

Newer on the scene are Josh Henkin's sandbags with add-on inserts, (seen above)... very popular. He's got a dvd with 60 sandbag exercises demonstrated, too, which you'll also find at that link.
