Hanging Leg Raise

HANGING LEG RAISE

Taken from Dave Draper's book, Brother Iron, Sister Steel

The ultimate in leg raise effort starts by hanging from an overhead bar with your hands or with the assistance of Brad Harris’ Ab-Original Straps. Hang, and with slightly bent legs (or legs bent a lot), raise your legs upward to some point of contraction, lower again to the starting point and repeat.

Easy, until you start swinging out of control and the rest of the gym wants to see you to it again. The hanging leg raise takes a little practice and should be introduced once the trainee is conditioned and confident. The trick is to fast-forward the reps (up.down.up.down without pause) to prevent a pendulum action from developing. I dare ya.
