- An article on Ethan Reeve's Rower's Combo from your old pal ccrow:
- Same old pal discusses General Physical Preparedness (GGP) here in the blog.
- An issue of Dan John's Get Up! newsletter with a sled dragging article:
- Over at Elite FTS, Bryan Mann explains general physical preparedness (GPP) training and gives training examples to get you started.
- When I think of Cross Fit, I think of Gregg Glassman, a guy I met, along with his wife Lauren, back at the beginning of the Zone diet rage. Gregg and Lauren gave classes and did counselling here in Santa Cruz, CA, and I'm telling you, there was no one better. These days, they inspire and motivate onsite at their location in town, and world-wide through their Crossfit website.
- Wicked wrote up an awfully good description of sled pulling (everything Wicked writes is awfully good), and it generated a lengthy conversation with good insight... how to make your own sled, where to pull, that type of thing.
- From Iron Mind, take a look at their pulling harness -- the official harness used at the World's Strongest Man contest. And maybe a sandbag might sit well next to your back door.
- Byron posted a link to Louie Simmons' site, with this note on sled dragging, "By the way, for anyone sled shopping, Louie Simmons is selling a sled for a little less, $119 instead of $155, at Westside Barbell's web site. Elitefts is great but Louie deserves some credit, it was Louie that really got people started dragging sleds." Here's the link to the Westside equipment page; scroll down a ways to get to the sled.
- Here's a real good article by John Christy regarding how to incorporate conditioning into your overall strength/size training plan.
