I once met Mike Katz, centerpiece of this photo, while in line for some attraction at the Epcot Center during the summer of '86. At my wife's urging I introduced myself. My ego blew up about 3 or 4 sizes when he said, "Yeah, I saw your back in line up there and figured you were a lifter." He was a very well-spoken and gracious man. Pulled my family back to his area in the line (and as there were 6 of us this made the people moving up very happy) and our families visited and chatted for 1/2 an hour.
As we parted ways my wife, who had only seen him in the film "Pumping Iron", said that after a few minutes you no longer 'see' his huge size, just a warm and pleasant personality. One of the highlights of my iron game experiences.
