Right back to it, been a while.
Update is I'm studying Brazillian Jiu Jitsu at least once a week (depends a lot on the shift pattern) Mainly bodyweight and kettlebell after that.
Made up a makeshift sandbag, 28lbs of aquarium gravel and bagged it up. Great for tabata work.

So going forward my goals are to advance my BJJ training and to achieve a Kettlebell Instructor Certification.
Other than that it's business as usual swinging the bells.

Hi there Jimmy Higgins, great to see you back... I wondered where the heck you'd got to mate.

Update. Now a certified kettlebell instructor, the downside is my bjj training is taking a back seat as I spend more time training others in the kettlebell dark arts. Well be trying to drop in here more often.

ok back to it
Double bell night

Double swings outside legs
20 x 5
Great trap burner

Double kb jerk with the 24kg bells(first time since the shoulder rehab that I've attempted this)
8x8

single kb jerks
10l/10r x 2rounds

tank empty but delighted I managed a few sets with the doubles and no shoulder issues

Looking good Jim, thanks for posting the vids.

I've got pairs of kb's up to 16's to be able to doubles, but have only done swings inside but will must try outside the legs a try.

Hi Merv,it's been a while.
Great that you've got some double sizes in the kettlebell department. Plenty to challenge you there.
If you're going to swing outside the legs Merv, make sure on the down swing that you keep your arms in line with the torso by clamping your arms in to your ribs to keep control of the bell.
Keep a fairly narrow stance but not so narrow that you are sacrificing a stable base.
Happy swinging

Tonights workout

Mobility work and warmups

24kg rack holds 1min right/1min left x 4 rounds(working on the kettlebell sport rack, trying to loosen the shoulder and elongate the trap to allow the elbow to reach the hip)

1 arm jerks with 24kg bell(pace work, focusing on the rest time in the rack between reps)
1 minute with 30sec rest after every minute.
minute 1 -->4 reps per minute
minute 2 -->5 reps per minute
minute 3 -->6 reps per minute
minute 4 -->7 reps per minute
minute 5 -->10 reps per minute
2 minutes rest and repeated on left side

Double jerk with 2 x 16kg bells
No rest between minutes, straight run through
minute 1 -->4 reps per minute
minute 2 -->5 reps per minute
minute 3 -->6 reps per minute

Had to stop fixation gone after 3 minutes.

Finished with stretching.

Happy with this training session.
I'm trying the kettlebell sport side of things for a while, see how things work out. May compete next year....
