Gained weight and need to get training
I turned 56 last week, have never smoked and don’t drink. I took an office job 14 years ago, and packed on the tonnage. I bought an Olympic weight set I have sitting in my garage and just can’t seem to get off me bloody arse to actually toy with gravity.
Advice:
- Walk daily (reasonable duration but eventually include stairs, hills, weighted backpack)
- Adjust your menu smartly (volume, quality, timing)
If you’re not agreeable to barbell training, swap the Oly set for a set of adjustable 50-pound Powerblocks (for some people this is less overwhelming, safer, more versatile, engaging and fun).
Think “now” to get started and think “summer” for sensible, enjoyable health and fitness goals achieved… think now and for good without demand beyond agreeable workouts, brain and muscle stimulation, pushing-pulling delight, occasional inspired-blasting, desirable injury-free muscle soreness, and the fulfillment, respect and confidence from disciplined responsibility.
