Conflicted

52 years old hoping to do between 415 and 430 at 198 (raw). The wife hopes the intensity will subside after the meet and I have time for a vacation.I will continue to lift light and heavy and compete as long as possible, but I also want to stop and smell the roses knowing there are many things to do outside of lifting like driving highway 1 along the coast of California, beaches, car shows, etc. It’s a conflict because I’m always thinking of training.

I’ve spent plenty of time in the confines of your neighborhood. There’s not enough sunshine, and we need fresh air to thrive. Still, it’s hard to move out.

Be nice to find that happy medium where strength and health complement all areas of your life. Those lovely roses are precious and their fragrance fades and their pedals fall while we intently stare the other way.
