Fossilized
I just turned 64 and I’ve been working out for 30 years pretty steady. I end up getting in there 3 or 4 times a week… I don’t go heavy anymore, but about a month ago I decided to try and get my arms pumped to the size they were in my prime, so I started going heavier and I think I might have torn a ligament in my right elbow, or perhaps it is the start of arthritis who knows. I’m wondering now if I’m a fossil — Do you think I should just lift for definition, be satisfied with the pump then ride my hoveround on home?
Now is the time to train for health and conditioning and maintenance, longevity and joy. That doesn’t mean you can’t train with modified intensity for fulfillment and latter-day advancement.
Heavy weights and forced workouts lead to injury, pain, time off, discouragement and frustration… that’s for suckers…
I’ve been known to be a sucker on occasion… very costly…
We press on… Godspeed… Dave
