Starting a training program

I want to start doing weights for bone strength.  I just turned 65 and have NO idea what to do..where to start.  Can you help?

Do you have access to a gym nearby? The reason I ask is that as a complete beginner, it’s a pretty good idea to have someone show you how to do weight exercises, especially as we get a little older. It’s completely safe and very, very effective, but I think if I were you, I’d have someone watch over me for at least a few workouts.

Most gyms offer a way to pay for single visits, as do personal trainers. You should be able to pay for a few visits and ask specifically to learn dumbbell exercises that you can do at home. You may even discover you like working out at the gym — the camaraderie is nice if the gym is a good one.

Good for you getting after this!
